Step 1 - Read about the Program
The Chi Walking Certified Instructor Program offers individuals the opportunity to license the Chi Walking trademarked technique. The e-training Instructor Certification is outlined below. This process is a three month program that includes the Chi Walking homestudy instructional materials, videos, and webinars.

Chi Walking Instructor Certification Requirements:
To be eligible to become a Certified Chi Walking Instructor, a Candidate should be experienced in the Chi Walking technique. Attendance at a Chi Walking workshop, or work with a Certified Chi Walking Instructor, before enrolling in the program is highly recommended, and mandatory for Certification.
To register for a Chi Walking Instructor Training, an Instructor Candidate must complete the online application form, sign and return the Nondisclosure and Noncompetition Agreement (NDA), and complete payment of $395 at the time of registration. This payment covers the Certification Course fees and costs of the Chi Walking Home Study Materials. Once these requirements have been completed, the Chi Walking Home Study Course will be shipped.*

Chi Walking Instructor Trainings are held on a quarterly schedule starting in January of each year. Registration can be completed online at any time.
We highly recommend having a good anatomy book, as there will be anatomy questions on the practical exam. We recommend:

Step 2 - Learn About the Requirements
Becoming a Chi Walking Instructor requires significant commitment. Everyone who becomes a Certified Chi Walking Instructor is Certified to teach Chi Walking only. (Certified Chi Running Instructors are authorized to teach Chi Running and Chi Walking as Chi Walking is an integral part of how to learn Chi Running.)
Chi Walking Certification Requirements:
Pre-CWIT:
- Submit Registration
- Sign & Submit Non-Compete Agreement
- Submit Payment
- Complete 12 hours of study and personal practice including 4 hours of reading & studying the Chi Walking Book & DVD
- Complete 4 Hours of practice-teaching
During CWIT:
- Sign Liability Waiver Form
- Pass the written Exams*
- Pass the practical Exams*
- Practice Teaching
After your CWIT:
You must fulfill all of the following requirements within one year after your CWIT.
- Complete Candidate Self-Evaluation Form
- Submit proof of CPR Certification
- Submit proof of Professional Liability Insurance
- Submit a DVD of yourself teaching the Chi Walking method to students to a Master/Certifying Instructor for review
- Receive approval evaluation by a Master/Certifying Instructor
- Submit your info & photo to Chi Living office for website listing
*You will be expected to teach lessons and successfully complete a written exam on the materials presented in the Chi Walking Instructor's Manual. A combined score of 4 out of 5 must be earned before you can become certified.
If your quality of teaching, both in person and on the DVD, does not meet the requirements, the Master/Certifying Instructor’s Evaluation will guide you to exactly what areas need improvement. Candidates with a comprehensive score of less than 4 (on a scale of 5), after their initial DVD has been reviewed, must send a second DVD at a cost of $125 for the Master/Certifying Instructor to evaluate them again, payable by you to the Master/Certifying Instructor. If you do not get to level 4 within one year, you will need to attend an additional CWIT at 50% regular price as soon as possible.
Upon successful completion of the steps towards becoming a Certified Instructor, approval review is sent by a Master/Certifying Instructor to Chi Living Headquarters for final certification.

All Instructor Candidates must fill out the Confidentiality and Non-Compete Agreement in order to register for a training and in order to receive training materials.

Step 5 - Review Payment and Policy Info
Certification Requirements
To be eligible to become a Certified Chi Walking Instructor, a Candidate should be experienced in the Chi Walking technique. Attendance at a Chi Walking workshop, or work with a Certified Chi Walking Instructor, before enrolling in the program is highly recommended, and mandatory for Certification.
This program is designed to be followed electronically, and completed in a three-month time period. Access to internet is essential to Certification. Educational videos, study information, and all testing materials will be sent electronically via email. Candidates are expected to keep up with these emails in their Certification process.
Requirements to Be Completed Before Beginning an Instructor Training
- Attend a Chi Walking Workshop or work with a Certified Instructor*
- Submit Registration, NDA, Payment
- Complete 4 hours of reading and studying the Chi Walking book and DVD
- Complete 15 hours of reading and studying the Chi Walking Instructor Manual & Instructor DVD
- Complete 4 Hours of Practice Teaching
*If a Candidate does not have access to a consumer workshop, modifications can be made upon request to Chi Living headquarters.

- Week 1: "Welcome to The Team"! Study the Overview and Introduction in the Instructor Manual
- Week 2: Study Lesson 1
- Week 3: Study Lesson 2
- Week 4: Study Lesson 3
- Week 5: Study Lesson 4, "Market Your Chi Walking Business" Session
- Week 6: Study Lessons 5-6, RSVP for “Ask an Expert” Conference Call
- Week 7: Study Lesson 7
- Week 8: Study Lesson 8, “Ask An Expert” Conference Call

Week 9- 12
- Complete 8 Hours of Practice Teaching*
- Submit a DVD of yourself teaching the Chi Walking method to students to Chi Living Inc. for review and approval (A minimum of 4.0 on a 5.0 scale must be reached to complete this requirement)
- Submit proof of Professional Liability Insurance
- Submit proof of CPR Certification
- Optional Conference Call with Chi Living regarding website navigation and optimization
All support will be provided from Chi Living headquarters, and supplemented with Certified Instructor support and mentorship.
A Chi Walking Instructor Candidate will be evaluated on their completion of these requirements, and is not guaranteed Chi Walking Instructor Candidate Certification at the end of this process.
Course and Certification Fees
The fee for the Chi Walking Certification Program is $395* which includes the Chi Walking Home Study Course and E-Training Curriculum. This total of $395 includes all course materials and programs.

We will review your registration form, and upon receipt of your Non-disclosure agreement, we will contact you about your registration status.
