Chi Running Instructor Certification

Chi Running and Chi Walking are not only revolutionary approaches to how people run and walk, they are a fabulous career opportunities as well. If you love to run and walk and be active, why not make a living doing what you love?

Chi Running/Chi Walking Instructor Training Schedule

Registration and payment are required three months prior to the four day course to ensure time to become fully prepared for your training, which includes three online quizzes and eight practice teaching hours.

Important Payment and Policy Information

Certification Requirements

Becoming a Chi Running & Chi Walking Instructor requires a significant commitment. Everyone who becomes a Certified Chi Running Instructor will also be certified in Chi Walking as it is an integral part of how to learn Chi Running.

Chi Running & Chi Walking Certification Requirements

Pre-CRCWIT:

  • Attend Chi Running workshop or work with a Certified Instructor within a year of the CRCWIT
  • Submit CRCWIT Registration
  • Sign & Submit Non-Compete Agreement
  • Submit Payment
  • Complete 10 hours of reading & studying the Chi Running Book & DVD
  • Complete 4 hours of reading & studying the Chi Walking Book & DVD
  • Complete 30 Hours of reading & studying the Instructor Manuals & Instructor DVDs
  • Complete 8 Hours of pro-bono practice-teaching
  • Complete, return and pass three quizzes, one per month prior to your training

During CRCWIT

  • Sign Liability Waiver Form
  • Pass the written Exams*
  • Pass the practical Exams*
  • Practice Teaching

After your CRCWIT - You must fulfill all of the following requirements within one year after your CRCWIT.**

  • Complete Candidate Self-Evaluation Form
  • Submit a DVD of yourself teaching the Chi Running method to students to a Master Instructor for review
  • Complete 8 hours of assistant coaching with Danny or a Master Instructor that includes Chi Running & Chi Walking
  • Complete 10 hours of Chi Running coaching practice & 4 hours of Chi Walking  coaching practice with documentation
  • Receive approval evaluation by a Master Instructor to you and Chi Living office
  • Submit proof of CPR Certification
  • Submit proof of Professional Liability Insurance (Recommended site: www.sportsfitness.com. You can purchase this for approximately $180 per year)

*You will be expected to teach lessons 0-5.5 and take a written test of these lessons presented in the Chi Running Instructor's Manual on the first day of the CRCWIT course. There will be a written exam of materials presented in the Home Study Course covering lessons 6-13 on the final day of the CRCWIT, in addition to a practical exam on all lessons. A combined score of 4 out of 5 must be earned before you can become certified.

**After completion of the CRCWIT Course, all Candidates are required to assistant teach at a one-day Chi Running Workshop that is being hosted by Danny or a Master Instructor AND send a DVD to a Master Instructor of yourself teaching Lessons 0-5.5 either to one or two individuals, and Chi Running. Your teaching and running/walking form will be evaluated by a Master Instructor and final certification is dependent on earning an average score of 4 on a scale of 1 to 5.

You are encouraged to use video analysis feedback to work on your form and to bring a camera with video capability to the CRCWIT. Your form will be evaluated by your Master Instructor at the CRCWIT and also on the DVD that is submitted after the CRCWIT.

If your quality of teaching, both in person and on the DVD, does not meet the requirements, the Master Instructor’s Evaluation will guide you to exactly what areas need improvement. Candidates with a comprehensive score of less than 4 (on a scale of 5), after their initial DVD has been reviewed, must send a second DVD at a cost of $125 for the Master Instructor to re-evaluate them. If you do not get to level 4 within one year, you will need to attend an additional CRCWIT at 50% regular price as soon as possible.

Upon successful completion of the steps towards becoming a Certified Instructor, approval review is sent by a Master Instructor to Chi Living Headquarters for final certification.

Course and Certification Fees

The Chi Running and Chi Walking Certification Program Fee is $1445. Early Bird Special Pricing of $1295 (11% savings) is available for each Instructor Training if you pay in full 4+ months in advance. Thereafter, pricing is $1445. The discount will be taken for the 2nd payment/installment; all deposits must be $550. This fee includes all courses, programs and materials as outlined (does not include recommended books) and in some cases your first year Certification Fee. 

Home Study materials will be sent upon receipt of the $550 deposit, Registration Form and Confidentiality & Non-Compete Agreement . Your final full payment is due three months prior to the Course.

International applicants are required to pay the full amount to register and will be charged for additional shipping and handling costs.

Payment Plans

Payment in full is required before your arrival at the Chi Running/Chi Walking Instructor Training. You may pay in full during your registration, or you make two payments*: $550 deposit and the full remaining balance (including any shipping fees for international registrants). The remaining balance is due three months prior to attending the Instructor Training course. Home Study materials will not be sent until the $550 deposit, Registration Form and Confidentiality & Non-Compete Agreement are received.

*International applicants are required to pay the full amount at the time of registration and will be charged for additional shipping and handling costs: Europe: $32; Canada: $16; South America: $31; New Zealand/ Australia: $38. Potential taxes and duties from your country may be applied. Please contact Chi Living for more information.

Cancellation Policy/Transfer Fee

Because you receive the Home Study Program, the $550 deposit is non­refundable. If you pay the full amount of the course upfront and cancel three months or more before the first day of the CRCWIT, you will receive a refund less $550. If you cancel less than three months from the start of the course, your payments are non-refundable, but applicable toward another CRCWIT within 1 year, subject to a $550 transfer fee and depending upon availability in the other trainings. Applicants that request more than one transfer will be handled on a case by case basis.

CRCWIT Transfer Fees will be assessed as follows:

– CRCWIT date to 3 months prior: $550 fee

– 3 months prior to 6 months prior: $125

– 6+ months prior: $75

Annual Certification Renewal Fee and Recertification Course

Every two years you will be required to attend a Recertification workshop and every year you will be required to pay an annual fee. Your annual fee will cover the cost of attending a Recertification Course.
