Amy Rupertus Peacock

Amy Peacock is a certified Personal Fitness Trainer through AFAA and Charlotte’s first certified Chi Running and Chi Walking instructor.

She is a firm believer of preventative wellness and using exercise and nutrition as medicine in healthcare.

She believes injuries are not a right of passage when training for racing events or running for fitness.  When one is focused on injury prevention and energy efficiency through Chi Running and Chi Walking, they can prevent injury, reduce stress - and have more fun running.  It is a truly life changing philosophy which she enjoys sharing.

Amy began playing soccer at 6 years old.  She started her first fitness business at 13. When she was too young to join a gym or be a trainer, she rented space from her church and paid an instructor to teach her friends.

Her athletic background also includes the University of Georgia club soccer team (now Varsity), and several road races. She ran her first marathon in 1997 and most recently completed the Spartan Sprint at the US National Whitewater Center in March 2012.  In July 2011 she ran the Brain Tumor Foundation Run in Atlanta in support of her friend and placed in her age group.  In 2010 she completed the Big Sur Half Marathon in 2010 in Monterey, CA.

In addition to Chi Running training, she served on the board of Girls on The Run, International for 3 years. She also created and managed a small family ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) foundation and was an advocate and fundraiser for ALS patients and research.  Currently she serves on the healthcare ministry for her church in Charlotte, NC and will teaches athletic condtioning classes at the Church Outreach center.

She is married with 2 active children, and a Gordon Setter who loves to Chi Run.
