Mark Lawrence Certified Instructor
Learn to Love Running for a lifetime! Mark specializes in helping people find the joy of running as he did in his 5 years as President of the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club, a 35 year old organization that quadrupled in membership during his tenure. Mark is an experienced endurance runner who has completed more than 50 runs of marathon distance and beyond.
In addition to ChiRunning, Mark is certified as a coach through the Road Runners Club of America, and the United States Association of Track & Field. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Steeplechasers, and on the Parks & Rec. Commission of Frederick. He organizes group runs designed to accommodate all levels of runners, conducts youth running programs, helps to orchestrate countless road races throughout Frederick County, and is the running form consultant for the “If the Shoe Fits” running shoe store in Frederick where he offers free consultation by appointment to those who want to learn about proper running form and what Chi Running is all about.
Mark conducts regularly scheduled clinics on the 2nd Saturday of every month at the William Talley Recreation Center (Baker Park area)on 2nd Street in Frederick, and 10 week “Chi to 5K” group training programs in the Spring and Fall. Other sessions can be scheduled on a case by case basis.

Kid’s Cross Country Running Registration Night
Come learn about the Self-Propel Kid’s Cross Country running program with practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30-6:30 in Baker Park and with weekend events later in the season. Program for kids from 8-13 yo of all ability levels. Designed to help educate kids on proper running technique and how to enjoy running for fun and as a fitness activity without the pressure or stress of competition! We make running fun!
