At 30, I am returning to a fitness regimen neglected for almost 10 years. I am working up slowly (first goal is to run 1/4 mile) as most of a decade behind a desk has left me close to 400 lbs.
I am walking, and working in ‘running sections’, over the course of a mile. My problem is not one of endurance, or of breath, but body. My feet turn outward, and a little under (toes point kind of out, insteps point kind of up). After my mile, my caves and shins are burning, and my ankles and feet are almost numb.
My doctor has checked me out for exercise (no health issues, my blood pressure is normal, and my cholesterol is better than his!), but my feet are out of whack.
Are there exercises I can do to resolve this, or other remedies y’all can recommend?
