I am in desperate need of advice - or a miracle. I have followed my e-chi half marathon training religiously for the last 17 weeks. I mastered all the forms and haven’t had a single injury. I completed the 13 mile rehearsal and until today I was ready and raring to go for the event itself on Sunday 15th September.
Today I went for a light run on a straight, flat road. In the last 400 yards I suddenly pulled up with a sharp pain just below my right calf muscle. I don’t understand it - I was concentrating on form - including midfoot strike, hip swing etc.
I have 8 days to cure this muscle pull. Is that possible? I will run the event no matter what happens as a lot of people have sponsored me for the cause I am running for. But 13 miles of painful limping I really don’t fancy
I would be very grateful if the experts could advise me of the best way to deal with this.
