I’ve been running on and off for over 20 yrs. Due to knee problems, I started evolution, then pose, and finally chi running. I have been working on chi running for about 5 years, but a half marathon 2 yrss ago lead me to stop running all together. Four months ago, I decided to start up again. After about a month I hurt my knee. An over active weekend of running, tennis and golf. I have been rehabbing it with very slow progress, probably impeded by still playing golf. I went to a doctor as part of the rehab. He diagnosed my injury as essentially jumper/ runners knee. Basically, he said I was tight in the hips. I have been doing strengthening and stretching, as well as foam rolling. He also told me not to “jog”. He said running slower than a 9.5 min mile was not good. My questions are: 1- Is there anything else you would recommend 2- When will I know I can resume running 3- What do you think of the doctors assessment of running too slow leading to injury?
