The Morning was nice, Great for a run, no issues with the heat, because there was none to deal with. but once I got 3.5 miles into it, I knew that my Endurance was giving me problems. had nothing to do with my knee issues either, it held up well with no issues all the way, Granted that this race wasn’t fully done with all the chi aspects, but I did try to keep my posture and body relaxed for the most part, so it started out good, Since the weather was cooler and made for a Perfect day, no Heat /temperature issues, I thought I could sail along using a 5:1 ratio, but had to switch down to a 3:1 at mile 3, then couldn’t seem to hold it there, so tried a run 1 min walk 1 minute, but it was the endurance in trying to keep going that last mile and my mind started to give up on me, in it at 55 minutes and it would be way over 1 hour before I crossed the finish line… to my personal disappointment ...deep down I was not happy, I sucked!
It’s one thing to plod along at a very slow pace and do 5 miles, when you do a Long Run, and it usually takes me about 1 hour and 15 to 30 minutes, but in a race I should be able to pick up the pace and go faster? NOT….so for me this is the 2nd year I’ve got a crappy 1 hour time. I sure hope I can get it together with the chi running or even if it will help? Other wise I will be facing a Knee Replacement surgery next year… that’s not good. :-(
