on hills I get great leg turnover by punching up towards the chin.
on steep hills I use the crossover step with lower arm swing. However even though it is easy on legs I am often passed by others so I have tried using obliques as suggested by Danny. With this method I get a natural 123/123 rhythm with legs but feel awkward combining an arm swing & don’t appear to get the leg speed as in original method. What is correct arm swing focuses for using obliques on hills. Also can you comment on correct way to use obliques on hills to make sure I have it.
Also on the flat when I concentrate on pelvic rotation by letting the hip go back with stride I also get a natural 123/123 rhythm & have trouble coordinating elbow swing(feels disjointed).Whereas when I run 12/12 (like on a log) I seem to get benefit & speed from arms. Any suggestions & comments appreciated as the nearest instructor is thousands of miles away.
